long weekend brunch — i made nyt belgian waffles (and kept them crispy in the air fryer!! 260f!), i made oven roasted bacon with equal parts syrup and dijon brushed on top, and i made poppy sad by photographing and nicely plating gids fruit salad instead of his 😆🥲

have you ever wondered why i have two rugs here? have you thought it was weird?? ok so years ago i only had the one rug under the couch and arlo was always rolling on the floor so i decided to put a small rug here plus it covered up more of the dark floor and then i liked it. BUT GUESS WHAT. i’m gonna try putting one new big rug here!! it might look great, but i am gonna miss having the gap in between because that’s where we walk if we have to run back in with shoes on so the new rug may have one dirt path right there anyway— two rugs or one? this has been the same for soooo long now! did i just talk for a while?

one of my most requested posts is on the blog today! how we got arlo so into drawing. sharing my tips for how to store supplies, what supplies we use, what we do to keep him inspired, how we help coach him, how i help him learn to draw new things and how to help calm him down when he messes up, we started using this @slumberkins hammerhead and we encourage arlo to use it for soothing in those moments and it's actually helping!! it's like the longest post ever— come see if you are trying to get your kid more into it!
