ok i’m ready for a wallpaper change so maybe you are too! also, i’m going to let you just download these ones because the pay for a tweet doesn’t seem to actually work for facebook. sorry about that for anyone who tried!
these are for personal use only.
if you share, please do not share the wallpaper directly, but rather share a link back to here. -
diy color block clock
the other day i picked up one of these wood clock faces at the craft store with no idea of what to do with it – so i just decided to paint half! i’d mention the functionality of having a clock nearby too — but who am i kidding, i’ll never look at it for the time.
materials
a clock kit (i bought this one, but it’s pretty cheap and crappy and protrudes a lot in the back)
wood clock base
acrylic paint of your choice
painters tape
not pictured :
a small paint brush
a pencil
sand paper
anything with a circular shape to trace arounddirections
step one : sand your clock to get a smooth texture. then tape off half the wood with your painters tape and burnish it by smoothing with your nails.
step two : using anything that has a round shape and is smaller than your clock, trace around the shape for a semi – circle (i used an old trash bin that was sized just right)
step three : mix your paint with a bunch of water so it’s more of a wash rather than a thick layer of paint. i would have preferred my paint to look thinner than it does actually.
step four : paint the center and then carefully free hand around your circular shape. make sure you dont have much paint on the brush when you do the edges or it’ll bleed.
step five : once your paint is dry, slowly remove the tape and assemble your clock kit as instructed.
wouldn’t these make great holiday gifts?!

if wes anderson made a horror movie…
on SNL they did this spoof (that mostly references the royal tenenbaums) but it would probably be my favorite movie if it were real. watch the trailer for “the midnight coterie of sinister intruders” and then check out the new wes anderson coffee table book i’m putting on my christmas list. -

diy trick or treat bags (with free printable)
halloween is coming up real soon — and who doesn’t want to have the best candy on the street?! here’s a very easy way to make yours stand out (and portion it fairly which i never do).
materials
cellophane bags
thick cardstock
a printer
scissors
stapler (or double sided tape)directions
one . print out the printables at 100% scale. make sure they’re not scaled up. these measure 5.75″ wide by 5″ tall to fit my bags, but you can size up or down.
two . fold the paper in half and cut it out. i trimmed my bags a little because i only had so much candy. fill with candy and then staple on the toppers!
