printable minimal thank you card
i find myself buying thank you card sets every time they’re inexpensive and cute — so i wanted to design a cute little modern thank you card to print at your leisure!
we all need to get in the habit of sending thank you cards more, so cute thank you cards will hopefully inspire all of us to do that.

dream house : the deck
it’s been a reeeal long while since my last dream house post, and now that we’re starting to plan some updates, i’m back to pulling a ton of reference and daydreaming.
i’m going to show you our backyard soon, but basically it’s a mess. it’s a clean slate because there’s nothing going on, but we have a shallow cement patio, some random poured concrete and way more weeds than you can even imagine. so we’re now in the beginning stages of planning the backyard and we’re hoping to build out a deck.it’s been sad not being able to use our backyard yet, but i’m hoping come summer — it’s our own little oasis. but the center of our plan is the deck — because i love a good deck. and i love all these decks.

14 tips for a perfect guest room
for the first time in my life, we have a guest room! and it’s so exciting and feels so grown up. this is also the first room reveal in our house, so i have to include a before and after. ( we didn’t do anything besides remove the ceiling fan and paint it white ).
we’ve only hosted my dad so far, but now that we are capable of hosting, it’s been really fun to try to create a welcoming guest room for… my dad, and my cats, and like, any future guests we might have, as well.
all the furniture is recycled from our bedroom and i teamed up with SWENYO to add some fun accessories and guest room essentials, because i really feel like it’s the little things in a guest room that transform it from a room filled with your old crap into a tranquil place people would really want to stay. you want your guest to feel like they have everything they need, and that they don’t have to ask you for a million things they forgot the whole weekend.

how to do your hair without doing your hair
those that know me know that i really do nothing to my hair, not only by choice, but also because i’m pretty clueless when it comes to styling it in anyway. TMI but my hair is so incredibly thick that i had lice for over a year straight when i was 10, and they just couldn’t get rid of it – so i ended up with a devon sawa mushroom cut which ruined the next few years for self-esteem. when i had super long hair in high school, my friends used to have brush it out for me to get all the tangles out. i’ve never fully blow dried my own hair, and the most i’ll do is straighten the ends a bit with a flat iron. i knew how to use a curling iron for about a year but i’ve tried again and i totally forgot. luckily my hair is naturally wavy(ish), so i try to play that up a little.
i’ve had to incorporate simple ways to do my hair, without doing my hair. these mostly just consist of using products to keep it from dryness and dullness and sometimes frizziness.
so i’ve partnered with Moroccanoil to show you a couple of simple ways to take care of your hair and even hopefully make it cute without really doing anything to it at all.

five round coffee tables
i shared on instagram that we got a new sofa — i’m in loooove with it, and i also love our coffee table, but now that we have this big old sectional, i think we need a round table instead. it’s really hard to navigate around it and it’s just making the space feel cramped. so even though i’ve never been a huge fan of round tables, i’ve been on the hunt for one and i think all five of these are super cute. i’m definitely leaning towards the cb2 shroom table — which is your favorite? halp!

los alamos, california
on valentine’s day gid and i drove 2.5 hours out to los alamos (near solvang). it was a super cute incredibly tiny town, which coming from LA actually felt a little like a ghost town. in a good way. this is a place you come for some r&r.
everything is on one main road, and we stayed at the alamo motel, which was right in the center. you can basically park your car and not use it again until you go home, which is pretty cool if you plan on drinking wine the whole weekend.
STAY :
the alamo motelEAT :
bob’s well bread for breakfast i was so in love with my meal here, i bought an extra loaf of bread to go. the egg in the frame with lardon was insane. super cute little place, not cheap but delicious.
bell street farm for lunch another really cute little spot where we had a delicious charcuterie board
full of life flatbread for dinner because it’s currently the only dinner available in town. we did have a really good pizza here, but i heard they’re opening up another bistro soon in case it’s too crowded (you can’t make reservations)
plenty is also supposed to be delicious but it was closed.DRINK :
muni wines (located at alamo motel)
union hotelDO :
ostrichland on your way out
antiquing up the wazoo — besides drinking wine, the town is filled with antique shops. so when you’re taking a wine break, stroll around and pick up some treasures. -
gold sugar rim glasses
i don’t normally get super celebratory for the oscars, but like i said — i’m hosting my family for the first time ever, so i wanted to come up with some simple ideas to get a little festive.
if you’re hosting an oscar party, or just having a couple friends over — these couldn’t be simpler if you’re serving wine or cocktails or whatever.
i bought the gold sugar here. in case you’re not sure how to sugar rim a glass, you just cut a wedge of citrus and slide it around the rim of your glass, pour the sugar onto a plate and dip your glass in.
