    diy trick or treat bags

halloween is coming up real soon — and who doesn’t want to have the best candy on the street?! here’s a very easy way to make yours stand out (and portion it fairly which i never do).

    trick or treat bags

    materials

    cellophane bags
    thick cardstock
    a printer
    scissors
    stapler (or double sided tape)

    treat bagstreat bags diy

    directions

one . print out the printables at 100% scale. make sure they’re not scaled up. these measure 5.75″ wide by 5″ tall to fit my bags, but you can size up or down.

two . fold the paper in half and cut it out. i trimmed my bags a little because i only had so much candy. fill with candy and then staple on the toppers!

    payday wishlist

hey it’s friday! we saw gravity last weekend, and i wanted to warn anyone that wants to see it to definitely see it in the theatre and in 3D. it’s not the greatest movie of all time, but i really think it could be boring at home on your tv. so see it – it’s like a 2 hour star tours ride.

    payday wishlist / 60

one . these would look so cute and fancy for a night out with a ponytail.
two . i will forever love baskets and bins for crap. i want to fill this foil covered paper bag with all my crap.
three . so this rug is actually a yoga mat, and i don’t do yoga — but that means it would be a perfect kitchen mat!
four . love love this simple diamond ikat phone case.
five . an adorable little pouch that would look amazing with an all black outfit.

photographer dina fried created this photography series of meals entitled fictitious dishes inspired by famous books. guess which book inspired each meal (via buzzfeed)

i am such a sucker for wes anderson movies, i see a poster and i’m already in. actually i hear a title or premise and i’m in. well now there’s a trailer to watch. in in in in. ps when i first moved to la, i saw royal tenenbaums 4 times in the theatre — i had no friends. (via huffington post)

i’m in awe over these oil paintings by alyssa monk. i love how she does different water patterns on each one. (via the artful desperado)

i JUST threw away leftover buttermilk after i convinced my boyfriend i’d find a way to use the rest up. i didn’t, and it went bad. and now i see this of course. these three ways to use up leftover buttermilk sound gooood. and helpful. (via the savory)

love this mini mr. rogers costume and i love that it looks like he didn’t want to hold the puppets. (via oh happy day)

these easy clay pumpkins can be used as wine stoppers, drink toppers, whatever you could think of. my favorite DIYs are always the simplest. (via paper & stich)

i’ve been working like a dog lately — here are some songs that are getting me through it. why do people say working like a dog? dogs don’t really work unless they’re this dog or skidboot. enjoy!

after a long weekend of potty training i’m feeling after a long weekend of potty training i’m feeling thankful for everything else in life besides this! some recent moments that brought me joy!
ok new fave holiday hobby unlocked — this is way b ok new fave holiday hobby unlocked — this is way better than potty training. now what else should i draw!!!???

my pinterest is full of embossed tin ornament crafts and i’ve been hoarding tomato paste tubes and takeout containers for a month

i’ll do a proper diy tutorial but all i did was flatten metal takeout containers with a butter spreader, then draw designs with an etching tool (but a ballpoint pen will also work fine!)

punched a hole and added a ribbon! haven’t figured out if there’s a way to dull the edges but they’re not too sharp as long as they’re rounded!
for all the parents of kids who collect every rock for all the parents of kids who collect every rock, seashell, twig, piece of gravel they see — make these sweet ornaments with their treasures — perfectly easy craft for kids to do themselves too 🤍

— i used oven bake @sculpey_official, roll into a ball and smoosh down
— just gently press the shells or rocks in to the clay
— add a tiny wire U to the top to hang
— bake according to package directions
— i used some elastic string to hang easily
