plans for the new year
i’m just now getting back into the swing of things after leaving town and the holidays. now it’s time to keep my resolutions.
THE PLAN
be stricter with myself about tasks and the blog
be less irritable
stop being lazy
stop being flakey
spend less money on bs
pay bills on time (off to a bad start)

be clean

stay organized: kate spade tudor city debra planner / this stuff does wonders overnight on a zit, but i’m always meaning to take 10 mins to do a mask. i never do. ever. take care of skin: kiehl’s deep pore cleansing mask / i wear nude flats like a cartoon character is always in the same thing. need to start getting a new pair sooner and letting go of a pair when they’re clearly not ok to wear anymore. these are cute and super cheap. breckelle’s casual flats / send thank you cards. thank people. be sweet. twine thank you cards from minted / i am going to buy a plant this year and i am going to water the damn thing, and it is going to live. this is the year. home depot ficus bush / i am going to challenge myself more with cooking. the family meal cookbook / i am going to only hang art that is special to us. vogue july 1948 print from art.com / i am going to smell good. stella eau de parfum

hi! we’ve moved!
OK! I finally plugged in my computer in the new place. There are boxes EVERYWHERE and we’re in that stage where we desperately need more storage furniture to unpack the remainder of the stuff but we can’t really bring new furniture in until we unpack to make space and you know the deal. I am going to reveal the really disgusting photos of what everything looks like right now. They’re gross. But will be great for making after shots look way better.

I’m planning on getting a big ol storage thingy for this section of the kitchen.
And some serious shelving for more pretty items over here.
This is the wall you see when you walk in. So I want it to be pretty. I’m planning on a fauxdenza. Hide everything in that bitch.
I set up the living room and scotch taped up our stockings. Which refuse to stay up. We’re also planning on some major shelving here. SHELVING!
Gideon refused to believe the BBQ wouldn’t fit with our table and chairs on the balcony. I mean, it fits… Anyone in LA wanna buy an awesome BBQ? Right now please?
We ordered a custom blackout shade for the bedroom. For now, we get to look at this beaut. Please notice I didn’t even bother making the bed to take this photo. Cool.
Since we watch about 95% of our tv in the bedroom, we switched the big one for the little one. Gideon is seriously in heaven.
At least one of our two cats is doing well with the move.
We have two bathrooms (!!!!!) but they both have no storage space and we have tons of stuff. Have to figure out something.
And the best part is our views. As I type this, I am totally seeing a tree! This is awesome.

xmas decorating
Even though I’m a [very unreligious] jew, I LOVE christmas! Not the jesus part or anything, but the tree and the stockings and all of it. The presents are fun too. I stupidly thought moving right before xmas would be ok because we’d have 10 days in the new place before to decorate up. But we have 10 days to unpack / decorate up. This might suck. So now I’m envious of all the lights I see outside of other apartments and houses. They all suck.
You know when you see someone decorate and you’re like “oh man you really went for it”? Well as much as I like decorating, I hate OVERdecorating. Here’s some decorating that probably took place prior to 10 days before the holiday but doesn’t look all xmas on crack like.
And please remind me never to move on December 15 again.
