some new bulbs
if you’ve stayed at the ace hotel in palm springs (and maybe the other locations), you may have noticed / fallen in lust with their super simple huge light bulb fixtures in the rooms. so naturally, i had to find out exactly what type of bulb it was and the staff was super helpful about it.
the bulbs are a 60 watt g40 clear bulb, i found them on clearance for $1.98 on lamps plus and bought ten and have put them everywhere. i love these!

have been really busy since i got home from a family reunion this past weekend… but this video is amazing. if you like the walking dead or watched any tv show in the 90s, you might love it.

making this: fixing up thrifted art
i bought this little painting at a thrift store and got super super excited because it looks just like hydra, the island we went to in greece for a wedding two years ago. it looks like many european islands, but omg i’ve decided it’s hydra and i found it.
so i cleaned it up a little and hung it, but from far away, the wood was totally blending into the washed out painting. i really LIKE the wood frame, but thought it needed a little more contrast to stand out.
so i painted it black.
and used my favorite easy tool, a gold leaf pen on the trim.
not sure if i made a mistake with this rash decision, but i do feel like the blues stand out a lot more now.
do we like?

now that our hardwood floors are lighter than our old place, we’ve realized we have to be cleaning more. it sucks. so naturally it’s time to research what good looking cleaning products would make me actually want to clean. now aren’t these pretty?
