i’ve been asked so many times about making a fon

i’ve been asked so many times about making a font from my handwriting but i just assumed that was a really complicated process i had no idea how to even learn - until @skillshare changed that for me!! i took liz kohler browns class on how to create a font on your ipad and i’m so glad i did because I MADE A FONT OF MY HANDWRITING! (actually two!) i’m still working out the million kinks but i hope to have it done soon. if you have any creative interests that you want to learn—

this was a very last minute project i did, i hoard all the pretty ribbon that comes with any package so i happened to have a few to use, but if you buy ribbon make sure to not get one that has any ribbing or texture or the pen will bleed!

tape down the ribbon so it’s nice and flat, the marker i used didn’t work super well so i just did nice and slow layering to get the names right!

don’t want to spoil my holiday party but really didn’t want to keep this easy idea from you in case you want to do them for thanksgiving!

you may notice in my mirror selfies there isn’t a pile of cords behind me anymore because sadly i can’t fit them underneath anymore but i’m thinking that’s probably for the best

and i finally swapped out our chair for something we will all actually sit in — yes i’m slowly turning my house in the valley into a beach cottage

— i used oven bake @sculpey_official, roll into a ball and smoosh down
— just gently press the shells or rocks in to the clay
— add a tiny wire U to the top to hang
— bake according to package directions
— i used some elastic string to hang easily

its tiiiiimeeee!!!! it’s been years now and our faux tree has held up so well. and this year i’ve got a very fun new addition, this checkered tree collar from @bedbathandbeyond - it’s also easy to store! it comes in four small pieces so anyone who loves a tree collar but doesn’t have the space for it, this is for youuuuu!

and the ornament storage box! i actually cannot even believe i used to wrap and unwrap every single ornament in tissue paper and like wasted HOURS of my life. never again! everything stores so safely and orderly in this thing.
