happy hanukkah! i put together a little celebratio

happy hanukkah! i put together a little celebration at home with @worldmarket — some ideas old and some new this year :
- a pretty silver bowl with disco ball ornaments for some extra sparkly light and a unique centerpiece that isn’t just your menorah
- i love just a subtle pop of blue, so i used these block printed floral napkins
- air fryer latkes forever (i shared how i do it in another video)
- these sparkly silver hanging stars make it all feel very festive (and are the easiest ones i’ve ever used)
- gelt doubles as both decor and as a bribery tactic

some snippets of our festive little house ✨i got sad last night that the holidays are almost over already 😆😭 what’s wrong with meeeee?

the easiest latkes ever — yeah sure i know there

the easiest latkes ever — yeah sure i know there’s a lot less oil involved here but i still spray a decent amount of olive oil during the air frying so there!

here’s how to make ‘em:
— grate one onion and mix with a bag of shredded hashbrowns
— mix in 2 beaten eggs, ½ cup flour, tsp coarse kosher salt,
tsp baking powder, ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
— preheat air fryer at 400 and liberally spray the grates with a nice olive oil spray
— spoon four latke piles down and using the back of your spoon, press them down flat, spray em again
— cook at 400 for about 6-8 minutes until golden on one side. flip with a spatula and spray and cook the other side until perfectly golden on both sides!

november was a very cozy month— we hosted thanksgiving, i painted our bedroom beige, izzy is ALMOOOST walking and christmas is starting to explode in our house

these are so easy and i promise they’re forgiving too. i used oven bake clay but you can use whatever you want!

— roll out balls of polymer clay into a circular shape
— using a kabob stick, poke holes along the diameter, if they’re not perfectly even you really won’t be able to tell. bake according to the package directions
— sew a piece of yarn from one side to the opposite. then across from that and and across from that until every hole is filled. tie a big knot in the back. don’t worry about the back, it doesn’t need to look pretty!

gift your kids an ornament every year that’s significant to them or represents that year of their life, and keep them all documented in a little notebook for them to look back on when they’re all grown up and don’t even remember the things they once loved 😭

(we decided to start when arlo was already 5, so we just cheated and backdated every year of his life with an ornament)

i added some kindness ones this year and removed making dried orange garlands because my kid won’t do it with me and i realized that’s not even a fun thing to do with a kid anyway lol
