we started doing this a couple years ago after i copied a girlfriend— i hang a heart on my sons door each night until valentine’s day with a handwritten compliment, so every morning he wakes up and gets to see a new one 💕

two years ago when we started this, he was really struggling with low self-esteem and i swear this helped so much 🥹

you can hang one every night or whenever you remember or just love bomb their door on valentine’s day eve

just a simple little gesture that can make your kid feel so loved! hoping this is the kinda thing they’ll remember me for 🥹

some scenes from a sick weekend at home 🤧 watched many many movies, sucked on many many cough drops and i’m happy to report that pho cafe delivers to the valley! started valentine’s day decorating, made nyt lemon chicken breasts and it was really easy and kids loved. got an adorable package of custom tshirts for the kids from @spilkidsshop . but sad to report google said you canNOT get abs from coughing. boooooo.

within seconds of giving it to izzy, it pretty much instantaneously no longer looked like this and also she insisted on throwing away all the tiny books because they were empty inside therefore they’re obviously garbage so i had to hide them from her because she clearly doesn’t respect my art hahah

ps i know i’m in the minority but i like portrait mode!

what could possibly be cuter than a temporary tattoo valentine of your kids drawing?!? NOTHINGGG! it’s surprisingly not too hard to do either.

i made them on my regular printer so that they would be extra accessible for anyone to make, but if you have a cricut you could make even more elaborately cut tattoos!

what started as frantically and tearfully packing

what started as frantically and tearfully packing a box of photographs, relatives jewelry and gid’s homemade ornaments turned into two weeks of adventures for my kids with some of our closest friends and family, we spent a few days in the desert and then drove all the way up to tahoe which is just magnificent and that’s not a word i ever use

many many hair tangles, an obscene amount of dollars spent on french fries, and somehow only one ear infection later and we’re heading back home today and now more than ever i feel so lucky to be able to do that 💔
