so if you know me, you know i’m like a total new

so if you know me, you know i’m like a total new england-ophile (is there an actual name for that because i haven’t looked it up lol) i’m from massachusetts but i moved to la as a teenager (mostly not by choice) and i’ve yearned for new england basically ever since. i even went back briefly but it was so cold and then i came back to be with gid etc

you probably know i go to martha’s vineyard annually but did you know i cry every single time i have to come back home??? like cry a lot because i just feel some sort of magic there that i don’t feel here.

there’s something magical about new england for me, the oysters on the beach, the autumn leaves, hell i even forced myself to like gilmore girls!! (i didn’t take to it at first i’m sorry i don’t feel that way now 😆)

anyway, our ten year anniversary is next week and we discussed going to mexico for a romantic getaway for a while, until we thought about what if we just went to new england instead … and maybe explored the idea of living there???

my family is almost all here so this is an insane idea, but im hopeful that if we went they’d come with us 🤞🏻 mom please please i’ll make you dinner that you actually like every week

anyway, this is not an announcement but rather just an announcement that a week from today we’ll be … exploring the idea. driving around some different towns and seeing if we feel it.

last year i wrote on the blog about the idea of moving and i had some insanely thoughtful comments from you guys that have been through it and i felt validated that this is something people sometimes do. i just have never made a choice of where to live. it’s scary! but the idea of living somewhere we truly love sounds so amazing too!

i was drawn to connecticut because it checked most of our boxes, so even though i’ve really never even been there that’s where we’ll be exploring— anyone from connecticut? you got a town suggestion???? thank you!

no i don’t want to live on the vineyard year round but i’d be so content with vineyard vibes + a target + shake shack

sorry for the novel. i’ll keep you posted when there’s actual news ofc— but i felt like it made sense to share our “journey” with you!!! lol
