my little moms holiday dinner party!!! ✨ i mad my little moms holiday dinner party!!! ✨ i made it a potluck and asked everyone to bring a side or appetizer so the meal was perfect and not too heavy. i made @inagarten winter squash soup (so easy and always good!) with fried sage leaves and homemade croutons, also made @smittenkitchen french onion lentil bake, a big green salad and an olive oil cake (recipe is on my blog!) and ginger beer spritzes! instead of making any actual apps, i just put out shrimp cocktail, olives and potato chips for the table i splurged on the tablecloth and i’m in love, i always cover the benches in a big sheepskin when it’s colder months and it makes it much cozier out there (also glad i own heaters now) i used baby’s breath all down the table and added the fun stars and twinkly lights to festive it up and i tied the napkins into bows ofc oh i also wore the dress you voted for 😜 if you want the links for anything, comment WANT and i’ll send em straight to your inbox! they’re also on my LTK here —https://liketk.it/4Z8ru #ltkparties #ltkhome #ltkholiday #simpleentertaining #dinnerparty #dinnerpartyideas #entertaininginstyle
holiday dinner party - part one! i haven’t hos holiday dinner party - part one! i haven’t hosted a holiday party since way before becoming a mom so i thought it would be cute to do a little dinner with some mom friends! i used @evite for the invites, they have so many cute designs to choose from and they have signup sheets which make organizing an event so much easier - i decided to make mine a potluck and was able to request certain items and track what everyone wanted to bring without ever having to be annoying about it!! to make it less like a regular potluck and more like a cool potluck, i mostly just requested the girls bring appetizers and desserts and then i made a giant batch of winter squash soup (with crispy sage leaves and homemade croutons!), @smittenkitchen french onion lentil bake and a giant green salad with apples, candied pecans with lots and lots of herbs. and a very festive olive oil cake with cranberries and sage leaves. i made ribbon drink markers so everyone could identify their own cocktail and also feel special - these would make really cute place cards too. i made these festive cocktail cubes with ginger beer, cinnamon sticks, rosemary and cranberries, you just pop them in your glass and add your alcohol and it’s so much easier than making one at a time! november went by in a second but was filled with l november went by in a second but was filled with lots of sweet family time and @dintaifungusa, i finally got invited to my brothers poker night and went home $2.50 richer, and arlo got to meet one of his idols 🥹 also seriously considering the UNO tattoo for real lol and how sweet are arlo and izzy together (and yes we desperately need a wagon haha)
obsessed with this tradition (that we only started obsessed with this tradition (that we only started doing 5 years after our son was born, so don’t worry it’s not too late for you either!) gift your kids an ornament every year that’s significant to them or represents that year of their life, and keep them all documented in a little notebook for them to look back on when they’re all grown up and don’t even remember the things they once loved 😭 (we decided to start when arlo was already 5, so we just cheated and backdated every year of his life with an ornament) maybe i’ll do a follow up video with this years ornaments! i’m putting them in the first day of their advent calendar got this idea from @leahfayegaeddert 💛
